Nursing is the branch of health science and the sector of public life concerned with maintaining or restoring human health through the diagnosis, treatment and possible prevention of disease and injury. It is both an area of knowledge – a science of body systems, their diseases and treatment – and the applied practice of that knowledge.
Nursing is an act and science of diagnosing and treating all human responses to health and illness. It involves caring for individual well or sick in the performance of all activities leading to death or recovery. nursing as defined by Florence nightingale(1853)stated that "putting patient in the best position to allow nature to act upon him"
A nurse is a person or an individual who provides care to client who comes from different ethnic, cultural or religious background different from its own background and being sensitive to unique health and illness and practices which are essential in the delivery of safe and effective care.
